Dr. Nguyen (or Dr. Q as we call him) is a lay Buddhist practitioner in the Zen tradition of Plum Village under the Fourteen Precepts of Engaged Buddhism (The tradition of Master Thich Nhat Hanh). He has practiced vipassana meditation for over 2.5 decades. He has explored many teachings on Buddhist philosophy, Vedanta philosophy, Hindu philosophy, and Sufi philosophy with the fundamental goal of awakening. He has interests in helping others find their true self and with living an all-inclusive inter-being existence with all species on Earth.

As a former humanitarian relief worker and a global health specialist, he has worked and coordinated many medical and relief missions around the world. He has worked, lived, and traveled to more than 80 countries. He recently graduated as a Naturopathic Medical Doctor (NMD) in 2020 and is a member of Lotus Flower Dojo’s Advisory Board.

One of Dr. Q”s favorite personal wisdoms and mindfulness practices is to remember: “In stillness, as we sit in the shrine of the NowHere, a field of creative possibilities arises within this heightened awareness. This field is constant, infinite, empty, and pervasive in all matters and all things. We come into the realization that we are It.”
