Credentials: C-IAYT (Certification-International Association of Yoga Therapist), RYT 500, E-RYT 200

Surabhi was born in a small town of the Himalayas, where she got the opportunity to experience and learn the mystical secrets through the sages and sacred surroundings. Yoga and spirituality became an innate part of her life during her childhood days. The inspiring stories of Swami Vivekananda, Swami Sivananda, Tagore, and many more left an indelible impression. In 1994, she met Swami Gyan Vijay Sarawati, a yogi with extraordinary discipline who preached the science of classical hatha yoga. The learning she received from this father figure and Guru was fulfilling and enriching.

The multi-dimensional wisdom of Hatha Yoga, healing practices, philosophy, and metaphysics became paramount and supportive in her ongoing spiritual journey. To fulfill the quest for knowledge and experience, she completed the 500 hour yoga teacher training and C-IAYT yoga therapy program at The International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center. The deep learning was comprehensive, including Hatha Yoga, kriya yoga, pranic healing, Vedanta/yoga philosophy, and therapeutic application of Yoga for disease management.

Surabhi has taught Yoga as a therapeutic intervention in diverse environments, including wellness clinics, health camps, and with personal clients. She has assisted multiple people dealing with mental/emotional and spiritual distress. Her professional experience includes working with several chronic illness cases such as cancer, stroke, bi-polar, Parkinson’s, diabetes, and stress. She is passionate about helping others through therapeutic Yoga, Restorative/Gentle Yoga, Vedanta and Yoga philosophy, and Spiritual Counseling. Surabhi is so grateful for the beautiful guidance she received from gurus, family members, and especially her older sister, who has been essential to her spiritual growth and evolution.
